Arja Smithson Carrington

Words, visions, emotions.

In an era where self-celebration is the norm, I choose a different path.
I refrain from presenting my image or sharing personal details, choosing instead to express only the outcry of my thoughts. Like a novel, I wish to come alive only through the reading of my pages. Once the book is closed, its world ceases to exist, yet it plants a seed in the minds and spirits of its readers, from which change can germinate.

My name echoes the Italian word ‘aria,’ and like the air, I aspire to transcend borders, observing and narrating, allowing thoughts and imagination to breathe freely. Art that only entertains without fostering growth, even in adults, serves no meaningful purpose.

The urgency to protect our exquisite, singular planet inspired my debut novel, Subterria. Yet, my journey doesn’t end there. Let us walk this path together.

My Novels

I want to address the emergencies of our time: climate change, rights and discrimination, non-liberal regimes and policies, harmful economic and cultural models. Because I am convinced that words can still change the world.
