Subterria – Surviving the Climate Change Apocalypse

There are probably millions of other worlds like ours in the universe. But it is impossible to reach them. And, all in all, even if it were, no one deserves to inhabit other planets if they have destroyed their own.
The rapid climate change we are experiencing, a global boil, is violently impacting ecosystems, driving species to extinction and triggering natural disasters that damage the economy and people’s lives, if not even erasing them, in the violence of floods, fires, drought and famine.
While we think that the urgency is to put an end to the destruction of nature, we do not understand that with our behavior we are first and foremost destroying ourselves, our civilization. The planet has always gone through climatic upheavals and mass extinctions, but it has always recovered, better than before. But, this time, our civilization of intelligent and technologically advanced beings is unique and, while we think we are the executioners, we are in reality first and foremost the victims. The victims of ourselves.
In this novel, humanity must in fact overturn its lifestyle, escape from the adversities it has caused by taking refuge beneath the surface, in the bowels of the earth. Is this what we would like to happen tomorrow? Or do we really want to start changing things today?
But in the depths of the earth you will not find a dark world. Human resilience lights it up like day. However, virtual reality can never be like the real one, for which our real body, of flesh and blood, will always yearn: our breath will want to meet the wind, our tears the rain, our voice the song of the forest, our legs the boundless expanses, and our thoughts the edge of the horizon.
In this novel fantasy marries science, philosophy, ethics and poetry. Different and intertwined worlds and lives, in an adventure that wants to germinate a different future for all of us.
